Cray Wanderers beat Bedford Town on penalties to reach the FA Cup first round for the first time. Beckenham RFC stay top; Bromley FC lose twice and sit 23rd.

Cray Wanderers are in the first round of the FA Cup for the first time. They beat National League North side Bedford Town 4-3 on penalties at Flamingo Park on Tuesday night after a 2-2 draw over 120 minutes, and will play Stockport County at home on Sunday 8 November. That tie will be shown live on BBC Two, the club says; our story on the Stockport game has the details.

This round-up covers Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October and the midweek games that followed. Every result comes from the club’s or the league’s own page.

Cray Wanderers

Saturday’s fourth qualifying round tie at Bedford ended 0-0. In Tuesday’s replay, according to the club’s match report, Ola Ogunwamide put Cray ahead after 17 minutes and Ade Yusuff equalised from the penalty spot in the 105th, after Bedford had led in extra time. Jakob Lowe scored the decisive kick in the shoot-out. The cup run has left Cray 18th in the Isthmian League Premier Division with 12 points from nine games, three fewer than the leaders have played.

Bromley FC

Bromley lost both League One games. Kyle Wootton’s header after 18 minutes won it for Stockport on Saturday, the club’s report says, and on Tuesday Leicester City won 4-0 at Hayes Lane. Bromley are 23rd of 24 with eight points from ten games. Andy Woodman left the club on Thursday and Byron Webster is in interim charge; our story has the club’s statement. Bromley were also drawn at home to Rotherham United in the FA Cup first round.

Beckenham RFC

Beckenham won 29-13 at Medway and are the only unbeaten side in Regional 2 South East: four wins from four and 16 points, four clear of the chasing group.

Bromley RFC

Bromley RFC lost 40-31 at home to Sutton & Epsom, their first league defeat of the season. They are fourth on 12 points, level with Medway, Gravesend and Sutton & Epsom.

Cray Valley Paper Mills

Cray Valley PM won 3-0 at Horley Town on Saturday, Jack Kirby scoring twice and Chris Dickson once, according to the Isthmian League’s match records. They lost 3-1 at Punjab United on Tuesday, Denzel Gayle scoring their goal. They are 15th in the South East Division with 14 points from 13 games.

Chislehurst Glebe and Beckenham Town

Both went out of the Kent Senior Trophy in the first round on Saturday, the league’s cup page shows. Chislehurst Glebe lost 3-2 at First Division side Hythe Town, Ben Oladapo-Gamu and Tom Hever scoring. Beckenham Town drew 1-1 with Corinthian at Eden Park Avenue, Pepin-Junior Yassi Pepin scoring, and lost the shoot-out 7-6. In the SCEFL Premier Division table, Glebe are 11th with 13 points from ten games and Beckenham are 17th of 18 with eight from 11. Beckenham are without a manager since Adam Griffin resigned on 11 October.
