The Cockpit in Chislehurst is CAMRA's Greater London Pub of the Year 2026. 17 Bromley borough pubs with hours, gardens and dog rules, checked October 2026.
The pubs with the strongest public record in Bromley borough are the Cockpit in Chislehurst, CAMRA’s Greater London Pub of the Year for 2026; One Inn The Wood, the Petts Wood micropub that came runner-up in Bromley; the Partridge, a listed 1927 bank on the High Street; and the Queen’s Head in Downe, dating from 1565. Every entry was checked against the pub’s own website on 24 October 2026.
We have not drunk in these pubs for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry sets out what the pub says about itself and what it publishes about hours, food, gardens, dogs and children. It then adds the public record: the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and its Bromley branch, heritage listings and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene rating for the kitchen.

How we chose
These are the pubs people search for, chosen on the public record rather than on taste: the Bromley branch of CAMRA’s Pub of the Year awards, CAMRA’s pub listings and heritage notes, other public awards, historic listing, and the Food Standards Agency hygiene rating. Every pub here is rated 5. We left out pubs we could not check against a website of their own on the day, which ruled out some well-known ones that publish only on social media, such as the Jolly Woodman in Beckenham and the Real Ale Way in Hayes, and pubs CAMRA lists as temporarily closed. Where a pub’s site did not show its hours, we have used CAMRA’s and said so. Hours are as published on 24 October 2026 and change, especially around Christmas, so check before you set off.
