Free 12-shop Trick or Treat Trail from 26 October, prizes at The Glades on 31 October, a £10 ghost walk on 1 November. Chislehurst's Pumpkin Hunt is sold out.

Halloween is Saturday 31 October 2026, the day after Bromley’s two-week half term ends. The borough’s biggest Halloween fixture this year runs for the whole second week of the break: Irvin’s Funfair at Crystal Palace Park, Friday 23 October to Sunday 1 November, with free entry. The other dated one is smaller and has already sold out: Chislehurst’s Pumpkin Hunt on Friday 30 October. On Halloween itself, The Glades runs a free family day, 11am to 4pm, where children who have finished Your Bromley’s free Trick or Treat Trail (26 to 31 October) collect their prize. The night after, Bromley Civic Society leads a ghost walk on Sunday 1 November at 6pm, £10.

Updated 22 October: Your Bromley has published this year’s Trick or Treat Trail, a week-long hunt round twelve town centre businesses from Monday 26 October, and a Bromley Ghost Walk on 1 November. The Churchill Theatre’s Stage Fright night on 30 October is no longer in the theatre’s listings and its booking page has gone, so we have taken it off this page.

Updated 20 October: Visit Chislehurst now lists the Pumpkin Hunt on 30 October as sold out, so there are no tickets left to buy.

Updated 15 October: Crystal Palace Park has added Halloween dinosaur tours on Saturday 31 October, at 1.30pm and 4pm, and a free fossils drop-in on Thursday 29 October.

Updated 8 October: The Glades and Your Bromley have announced a free Halloween day at the shopping centre on Saturday 31 October, so the town centre trail we listed as unannounced is back. Dracula in the Subway on 10 October is now sold out.

Everything here was read on 22 October 2026 from the organisers’ own pages. Where an event ran last year and has not been announced for this one, this page says so rather than repeating last year’s dates.

Irvin’s Funfair, Crystal Palace Park

The park’s own listing bills it as “classic funfair entertainment, with a Halloween twist”, with rides and attractions for all ages (Crystal Palace Park).

  • Friday 23 October, 4pm to 10pm
  • Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, 1pm to 10pm every day
  • Free entry. You pay for rides with tokens, sold online and at the fair.
  • Where: Palace Terrace, entered from Crystal Palace Parade by the bus terminal, SE19 1UA.

The rides are at ground level, but the park warns that some paths may be uneven or muddy.

The same park has two free Sunday afternoon concerts in the break, both 2pm to 4pm and not ticketed: the Endurance Steel Orchestra on the Crystal Palace Platform on 18 October, and Swimmers Jackson at the Crystal Palace Bowl on 25 October (Crystal Palace Park what’s on).

Meet the Monsters, Halloween afternoon

The Victorians called the park’s dinosaur sculptures “monsters”, and on Saturday 31 October palaeontologist Dr Cassius Morrison leads two family walks round them, at 1.30pm to 3pm and 4pm to 5.30pm, starting from the Hylaeosaurus Head near Crystal Palace Park Farm (Crystal Palace Park).

  • Advance booking is essential, for every adult and child. The park’s page does not print a price; it is shown when you book.
  • Pitched at ages 10 and over, though younger children are welcome. Under-16s must be with an adult.
  • The walk follows the paths round the lake, up to an hour and a half, and does not go onto Dinosaur Island.

Earlier in the week the Visitor Centre runs a free Fossils Day with the Geological Society on Thursday 29 October, 11am to 3pm, drop-in with no booking and aimed at under-12s (Crystal Palace Park).

Chislehurst Pumpkin Hunt, Friday 30 October: sold out

The 2026 hunt has sold out. Visit Chislehurst’s event listing now reads “THIS EVENT HAS NOW SOLD OUT” (Visit Chislehurst). The details below are for ticket holders.

Visit Chislehurst runs a trail along the High Street on the last afternoon of half term, sponsored by Chislehurst Chiropractic Clinic (Visit Chislehurst).

  • 1pm to 4pm, with tickets sold for timed starts at 1pm, 1.30pm, 2pm, 2.30pm and 2.45pm.
  • £6 for each child aged 2 and over. Under-2s do not need a ticket.
  • Each ticket holder gets one map at the registration point on the day.
  • There is a fancy dress competition with prizes for first, second and third.
  • It goes ahead whatever the weather. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable; if the organisers have to cancel, tickets move to a new date.

The organisers say 2025’s hunt sold out, so buy before the week itself. Children must stay with a parent or guardian throughout.

Halloween at The Glades, Saturday 31 October

The shopping centre has announced a free, family Halloween day in its Central Atrium, 11am to 4pm, supported by the Your Bromley business district (The Glades). On offer:

  • Halloween face painting and colourful hair braiding
  • Decorate your own treat bag, for trick or treating later that evening
  • Prize collection for the Trick or Treat Trail (below)
  • Roaming Halloween characters

Everything finishes at 4pm. The centre expects the activities to be “very popular” and warns it may close individual queues early once they reach capacity, so arrive early. No booking is mentioned. The Glades’ car park is the obvious one for it; rates are on our parking in Bromley page.

Your Bromley Trick or Treat Trail, 26 to 31 October

Your Bromley, the town centre business district, runs the trail for the whole second week of half term, Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October, free (Your Bromley).

  • Pick up a trail map at Guest Services on the upper mall of The Glades, from Monday 26 October.
  • Twelve businesses each display a sugar skull with a secret letter: The Royal Bell, 1917 Chill Cafe, Bromley Hardware, The Body Shop, Daniels of Bromley, Hays Travel, Hotel Chocolat, Robert Dyas, Patisserie Valerie, the Churchill Theatre, Snugbite and Lolli’s. Collect all twelve letters to spell the mystery Halloween word.
  • Prizes are handed out only on Saturday 31 October, 11am to 4pm, in The Glades Central Atrium, first come, first served while stocks last.
  • The shops keep their own opening hours. If you plan to do the whole trail on the Saturday, Your Bromley’s advice is to leave plenty of time to get back before prize collection closes at 4pm.

Bromley Ghost Walk, Sunday 1 November

Bromley Civic Society’s ghost walk starts at 6pm on Sunday 1 November under the big cedar tree at the north entrance to The Glades in Queens Gardens, BR1 3EA, and ends in Bromley Little Theatre, which the organisers say has “many ghosts”. The stories take in the coffin road and the faces in the church wall, and it finishes at about 8.30pm (Bromley Ghost Walk on Eventbrite, Your Bromley).

  • Tickets £10. Under-16s go free with an adult; two adults with two or more children can buy a £15 family ticket.
  • It includes one fairly steep walk up Martin’s Hill. Wrap up warm; a torch helps.
  • The organisers suggest Stockwell Close multi-storey car park, or the Queens Gardens bus stop on Kentish Way, about ten minutes’ walk from Bromley North or Bromley South.

Pumpkin picking at Hewitts Farm

The only pick-your-own pumpkin patch inside the borough we could confirm is Hewitts Farm on Court Road (A224), Orpington, opposite Chelsfield Lakes Golf Course. Its pick your own page, updated on 1 October 2026, lists pumpkins and squashes among the crops available now (Hewitts Farm).

  • No booking and no entry fee. You pay for what you pick, and the farm asks you to pick only what you will buy. Cash and card are accepted.
  • Open Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 4.30pm and Sunday 9am to 4pm; closed Mondays.
  • Last entry is strictly 3.30pm Tuesday to Saturday and 3pm on Sundays, and the farm turns away anyone who arrives later.
  • Large free car park. Bring your own bags; boxes are on sale at the gate.
  • Under-16s must be with an adult. The barbecue and picnic area is permanently closed.

The farm says pumpkins end the season in October, and it posts daily crop updates on its Facebook page, so check before driving out late in the month.

For adults

Dracula plays the Bridge House Theatre above the pub in Penge from Tuesday 20 to Saturday 31 October at 7.30pm, finishing on Halloween night. It is a new adaptation by Andrew and David Hobbs, produced by British Touring Shakespeare, with Paul Winterford as the Count and Ellie Ward as Mina Harker. The theatre is on the first floor and reached only by stairs (The Bridge House Theatre). The same company performs a free 30 minute set of extracts inside the Crystal Palace Subway on Saturday 10 October, which the park now lists as sold out (Crystal Palace Park).

The Bromley Ghost Walk on 1 November (above) is the other evening option; children are welcome but it is pitched at grown-ups.

Not announced yet

  • Chislehurst Caves. The caves advertise seasonal Halloween and spooky story tours but publish no dates, times or prices, only a phone number, 020 8467 3264 (Chislehurst Caves). Ordinary lamp-lit tours run every day of the school holidays.

We check again in the week before Halloween and add anything the organisers publish.

Getting there

Half term runs Monday 19 to Friday 30 October, and the clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, so the second week’s afternoons get dark an hour earlier. School dates, Chislehurst Caves prices and the rest of the fortnight are on our October half term page.

For Crystal Palace Park, the funfair entrance is by the bus terminal on Crystal Palace Parade. Chislehurst’s pumpkin hunt is on the High Street, and the village’s council car parks are covered on our parking in Bromley page. Anything dug up on the way is on our roadworks and travel page. A week after Halloween, four fireworks displays share Saturday 7 November: see our Bromley fireworks page.
